Optimization tips

We collected some useful tips for you, while optimizing:

Bids0 report
This report presents all the Ad Sources that return zero Bids.
This could happen due to demand issues such as:
Setup issue -bad implementation of the macros. Therefore, make sure macros were implemented correctly. Use our Tag Validator to validate the macros (for more information about the Tag validator go to Tag validator under Automatic tools).
The Ad Source is closed from the demand side– communicate with your Demand partner and ask them to make sure the tag is open from their end.
Timeout – the Ad Source has not responded with a Bid , within the specific timeout defined at the platform level.
There is no real demand behind this ad source– communicate with your Demand partner in order to make sure they connected you to buyers from their end.

When you see many Pre-bids on specific Ad Source, it means you’re sending your Demand partner traffic they are not interested in. In this case, you should check the type of supply you are sending to your demand partners.
It is important to note that when an Ad Source receives a Win, it will appear as an Opportunity on your Demand partner’s StreamRail account .
This report significantly help improve your account’s Fill rate and prevent traffic waste.

Imps0 report
This report presents all the Ad Sources that received Wins but generated no Impressions (presented no ads). This can happen due to demand issues such as:
Your location as a partner, within your Demand partner Waterfall.
Timeout – the Ad Source has not generated an Impression, within the specific timeout defined at the platform level.
There is no real demand behind this Ad source
Supply– check the supply you’re sending to those Ad Sources and make sure you’re sending quality traffic. Moreover, make sure that the macros are being delivered correctly to your Demand partners using the Macros report (for more information about the Macros report go to Macros report under Reporting).

There are many reasons why you may be seeing many Post-bids for a specific Ad Source:
– While working with VPAID Ad Sources, it’s important to note that VPAID usually responds with a Bid even if it does not have a real media file to present.
– Setup issue from your Demand partner side- Your Demand partner might have not connected you to many buyers from their end. If your demand partner is another StreamRail partner, contact your Customer Success manager for further assistance.

This report significantly help improve your account’s Fill rate and prevent traffic waste.

Labels
The main purpose of the Labels feature is to help you better organize your activity.
By classifying your activity – demand and supply – into different groups, you can easily control the targeting of your Ad Sources and traffic channels.
For example: you have an exclusive Demand partner for which you’d like to get only Direct Supply.
In this case, you will create 2 labels, the Demand Label will be called “SSP” and the Supply Label will be called “Direct”.

Here is how we associate the different labels:

1. Go to System Settings under Settings and choose the Labels of Demand and Supply, you’d like to work with.
2. When setting up a new Demand partner and a new Supply partner, you’ll have to choose the label out of the list that you’ve set.
3. The Ad Sources and Traffic Channels inherit the label of their “father entity” (Supply partner/ Demand partner), but you also have the option of overriding it and choosing a different label from the list, in the Ad Source/ Traffic Channel setup.
